Do midwives just help pregnant women?
Pregnant women are not the only people who seek care from certified nurse midwives. Midwives provide women of all ages with comprehensive health care, from annual well visits and screenings to preventive care, contraception, family planning and fertility.

What ages do you serve?

Are you seeing patients in person?
Per CDC recommendations, we are trying to help minimize COVID-19 exposure risks. We have started limiting appointments to patients, nursing infants and, if absolutely necessary, one spouse or guest over 18. Any other guests or children will be asked to wait outside the building.

Do you offer telehealth for virtual visits?
Nacogdoches Womens Services offers virtual telehealth appointments for established patients. If you are coming in for a discussion only & no exam is required, then you might be interested in scheduling a telehealth appointment instead. Does hormone therapy cause breast cancer?
Studies show BioTE® hormone optimization can decrease the risk of breast cancer by 60-70%.

Does hormone therapy increase the risk of heart disease?
Women who don't get their testosterone optimized have worse coronary artery disease as they get older.

Does hormone therapy increase the risk of blood clots?
Studies show BioTE® pellet therapy creates no increased risk of blood clots.

Does hormone therapy make you grow a beard?
There is a small chance that patients receiving BioTE® hormone therapy may develop a few facial hairs, but it's a low-risk problem.

Does hormone therapy make you gain weight?
Using testosterone, with or without estrogen, may cause you to lose rather than gain weight.

Am I a candidate for BHRT?
BioTE® hormone therapy is customized for each patient to promote optimized BHRT benefits. Following lab work to look at an individual’s current hormone levels and other indicators of a hormone imbalance, we will schedule a personalized hormone consultation and a review of your blood panel to discuss treatment options.
